Online Counselling & Psychotherapy Across Australia

Sometimes finding the right therapist isn't about being able to attend a clinic in person. Online counselling offers the opportunity to access meaningful therapeutic support from wherever you are in Australia, from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

At Selkie Counselling & Psychotherapy, I offer online counselling and psychotherapy for individuals and couples across Australia. Sessions are available via secure video and provide a flexible way to access therapy when distance, location, work, family commitments or simply feeling more comfortable at home make face-to-face counselling difficult.

A relational and Gestalt approach to online therapy

I am a psychotherapist and counsellor with a Master's in Gestalt Therapy and registered membership with PACFA and GANZ.

My work is grounded in relational Gestalt therapy, which places importance on what is happening in the present moment, both within you and within the therapeutic relationship.

Rather than approaching therapy as something that needs to be fixed, we can slow down and become curious about your experience, your emotions, thoughts, relationships, patterns and ways of responding to the world around you.

I aim to offer a warm, grounded and collaborative online therapy space where you can feel safe enough to explore what is happening without judgement or pressure to have everything worked out.

Online therapy for individuals

Online counselling can provide support through many different experiences, including:

  • Anxiety and emotional overwhelm

  • Depression and low mood

  • Trauma and difficult past experiences

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Grief and loss

  • Life transitions and periods of change

  • Feeling disconnected from yourself or others

  • Difficult patterns that seem hard to change

  • Self-esteem, boundaries and people-pleasing

  • Midlife and personal transitions

My experience includes working with adults, teenagers and children within the mental health sector, as well as supporting people experiencing crisis, emotional overwhelm and recovery.

Online couples counselling

Online couples counselling can be a valuable option for couples who are struggling to find time for therapy or who live in different locations.

From a relational Gestalt perspective, couples therapy isn't simply about deciding who is right or wrong. We can become curious about what happens between you — the patterns you find yourselves caught in, how you respond to one another, what becomes difficult to communicate and what may be getting lost in the relationship.

Online couples counselling can provide a supported space to slow these interactions down, understand one another more deeply and explore new ways of relating.

Why Selkie?

The name Selkie comes from Celtic and Nordic folklore. Selkies are mythical beings who move between the sea and the land, carrying a sense of belonging to two worlds.

This story speaks to my understanding of therapy. At times, life can take us away from parts of ourselves — our needs, feelings, instincts, creativity, boundaries or sense of connection.

Therapy can provide an opportunity to come back into contact with yourself and begin to understand what is happening in your life with greater awareness and compassion.

You don't need to know exactly what you need before beginning therapy.

We can begin where you are.

Online counselling Australia

If you're looking for an online counsellor or psychotherapist in Australia, Selkie offers individual and couples counselling via telehealth.

Online sessions may be particularly helpful if you live outside the Sunshine Coast, have limited access to a suitable therapist locally, travel regularly, have a busy schedule, or simply feel more comfortable beginning therapy from home.

Online counselling is available by appointment across Australia.
